The Bun is Out of the Oven

40 Weeks & Fashionably Late…

Posted by: bunintheoven on: April 11, 2007

Today is my due date and Cameron is deciding to hold on a bit longer!  I had a my check-up this morning – no change – still under 1 cm dilated.  Otherwise, everything is still great with her & I both.  I didn’t have the protein in my urine this time, BP was low and I gained 3 lbs since last Friday (I’m assuming this is water from the swelling.)   The Dr. said the swelling was nothing to be concerned about; it’s normal.  Cameron is still moving a lot and her heartbeat was great.

I have another check-up scheduled for next Thursday the 19th, if I don’t go into labor before then.  The Dr. will do an sonogram at that visit to make sure Cameron is still doing fine.  If nothing has happened by then, we’ll schedule an induction date.  The Dr. said today that she won’t let me go past 41.5 weeks, which falls around 4/20-4/23.  So, if Cameron doesn’t come on her own accord, there will be an “official” end date to this 10-month love affair we’ve been having! I keep joking with Hal that I’ve provided such a nice/warm little home for her in there and that’s why she’s content to just stay put!  :)   On 4/15, Hal and I will have been together for 12 years; it’s the anniversary of our 1st date!  So, it would be kind of neat to come full circle and have her born that day!  We’ll see.

While Cameron isn’t born yet, we have had another “birth” in the Saville house.  Some of you know that Hal & I started a business last year – a web application related to comic books.  The application has been in development for the past year and we  finally launched a Beta version this week!   Hal has been putting his blood, sweat and tears into this many nights after the pregnant lady has been put to bed.  I’m very proud of him!  If you would like to check it out, or know anyone that’s into comic books, go to www.comicsubz.com to sign-up for an invitation to the private beta release.
